Summer STEM Program

If your child loves to play with their hands, build structures, devour a computer, and learn all about STEM, sign them up for Summer STEM Institute! A new bus route will allow residents from Sparta and surrounding areas to participate in this exciting and innovative program. The bus will pick up and drop off from Morristown High School located on Early Street during the week of July 24th.

The Summer STEM Institute (SSI) in Cedar Knolls offers fun, co-ed programs for youth entering grades 1 – 6. Children will work in teams, meet new friends and perform hands-on experiments that make science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) come alive. The SSI program has been designed and vetted by STEM educators and professionals to be fun and age-appropriate. Hands-on activities help students learn the academic concepts behind the experiments.

The program will be held for five weeks at the local Boy Scout headquarters in Cedar Knolls beginning July 10th. Males and females entering grades 1- 6 will spend their days building carts, working on circuit boards, programing robotics, learning about astronomy, and so much more!

The program is aimed to welcome children who are not already enrolled in the Scouting program and have an interest in STEM, however Scouts may attend to earn STEM NOVA badges.
