An old-fashioned Father’s Day program focused on children’s chores and family life in 1810 will be held at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum from 1 to 4 p.m. June 19.

Children can help do laundry the old-fashioned way, see how wool is spun into yarn, play with period toys, play hoops and a fast-paced game of “graces.” Everyone in the family can make crafts with the Jockey Hollow Weavers and explore the gardens on a scavenger hunt. Children are encouraged to dress in their favorite historical costume and participate in a costume parade at 2:30 p.m.

This program takes place in the museum’s three-acre historic gardens, known for their heirloom roses and forgotten-in-time appeal. All ages may enjoy the exhibit, “Hearth and Home: A Century of Family Life,” which includes a children’s interactive area, on view in the main gallery through June 30

General admission applies; admission for dads and members is free. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations are requested; call 973-538-2404, ext. 10. The museum is at 45 Macculloch Ave., Morristown.
